Dr. Silva was born and raised in the central valley of California. Both of her parents immigrated from the Azores islands of Portugal at a young age to California. She grew up participating and celebrating cultural traditions in the local Portuguese communities with family and friends. She speaks Portuguese and limited Spanish. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with emphasis in neurobiology, physiology and behavior from the University of California, Davis. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry with honors from Pacific University's College of Optometry in 2014. Her clinical rotations were based in primary care and contact lenses in Eugene, OR. She also focused on ocular disease at both the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA and the VA hospital in Vancouver, WA. Dr. Silva also practiced pre and post-operative care for Lasik in Tigard, OR.
Dr. Silva is patient and listens to your concerns. She likes to take the time to explain vision-related and eye health problems. Her favorite aspect of optometry is improving patient's vision for a better quality of life, monitoring eye health, and getting to know her patients.
Dr. Silva loves the outdoors. You will often find her hiking, camping, or snowboarding with her husband Andy and their dog Suntwo. She also loves cooking and gardening. She has one dog, two cats, and five chickens.
